Blending Phonemes- /c/ /a/ /t/ = cat

Blending Word Parts- /c/ /at/ = cat

Writing

Drawing, Writing and Dictating to Add Details in Writing Continue to practice drawing pictures using shapes, people, objects. Have your child practice adding details to their pictures.

Have your child practice blending sounds together to form three letter words, consonant-vowel-consonant or cvc words. An example of blending sounds would be: /s/ /a/ /t/ = sat.

Math

Understanding subtraction

Practice counting to 10 with your child. Give them 10 objects (beans, pennies, buttons) and have them take away some of the objects. Then have them count how many are left.

Reminders

Please practice putting on and taking off jackets, hats, and gloves. Children should know how to use a zipper and should begin to learn how to tie their shoes. Also, make sure that your child’s belongings are labeled with their name, students misplace sweaters and jackets frequently.
